I will probably rent a movie tonight, but don't know what. Any suggestions? I like movies that are foreign or have to do with travelling or are based in other countries. Or sappy girl movies are good too.

I heard that it wasn't too great. Has anyone here seen it?

I saw W over the weekend. I didn't like it all that much. I thought it would bash him a lottle bit more.
There was a part in it though, where George Senior admits to helping W in the election process in Florida. Loved that!

Saw "In Bruges" last night. Eh. It was ok. It wasn't as funny as it should have been and wasn't as philosophical as it was trying to be. I don't know how Colin Farrell won a Golden Globe for it-- it was a really hammy performance.
I liked Gran Torino but it was not Clint Eastwood's best either.
Slumdog Millionaire and Milk are both worth seeing.

Good to know about Slumdog Millionaire. I was thinking about going to see it. NJow maybe I will.
Weird thing about In Bruges - I saw it in the theatre and thought it was HILARIOUS! I thought it was a great movie and told all my friends to watch it.
Then when my husband was here we rented it and I watched it with him. I realized it really wasn't that funny at all. In fact it was kindof slow, and very dark. Makes me wonder how I could have thought so much of the movie the first time I saw it. Weird.

GW72 -
Were you at my house last night? We had a couple of people over and watched In Bruges. I'm not sure why it was called a comedy - other than some snappy lines, there wasn't anything comedic about it. I enjoyed it though, just wasn't what they had billed it as.
Saw Hotel for Dogs about a week ago - very good kids movie. DD liked it alot.

gw,
I saw gran torino last weekend, and it was one of Eastwood's best movies. all of his roles in one. Even Roudy Yates, from Rawhide. Sadly, due to the ending of the movie, I think it is also his swan song role, just like The shootist, with John Wayne.

Just a personal preference, opti. I think he's one of our finest filmmakers so my expectations were pretty high. Still, a very good movie and I would recommend it.
