Scott, please post a pic of Edouard Manet's portrait of mademoiselle Suzette Lemaire.
She hangs in my dining room. Reminds me of DDW.

Manet's portrait of Mme Suzette Lamaire, 1880. Sold for $3 million in 1996 in New York.

I don't know how to attach anything on here. Can you give me a quick lesson on that, scott? In the meantime, maybe you can post Nude with Calla Lilies by Diego Rivera. That's one of my favorites. tyia.

Monica - you apparently can't attach anything, all photos are links from other sites. Right click on the photo and copy the file name and paste that here with the ['img] tags in the little photo icon. Like this, except I added an apostrophe so it would show as text: ['img]http://common.csnstores.com/MMG-Nude-with-Calla-Lilies-by-Rivera-Diego~img~NX~NX125846_l.jpg[/img]

I did that and it didn't work. It only let me attach a URL.

I did that and it didn't work. It only let me attach a URL. You probably tried to stick the whole web page URL inside the tags, it only wants the photo name.

The farm house is in Eldon, Iowa. When we moved to Iowa in January '64 my parents just had to see it and took us kids with them. It was literally falling apart. The State Historical Society of Iowa purchased the property and renovated it. Eldon is in SE Wapelo County just south of Ottumwa which is in SE Iowa.

Hey Dad (of 2 dogs?) - I was born in Iowa, lived 13 years in Rock Rapids and another 7 in Iowa City. We must be about the same age.
The house in Eldon is right up there in Iowa tourist attractions sites with the little brown church in the vale, the Herbert Hoover memorial, the corn palace, and the field of dreams.

Sc0tt, I turned 50 last month. :-( Well at least it is better than not making it to 50. The little brown church in the vale. What a nice place. Took my wife there a few years ago. She wasn't impressed. She expected some huge, majestic thing. Was disappointed when it was small. lol. Not sure what part of little she thought meant BIG. Oh well.
I drove through Rock Rapids last year, Iowa City too. Small world.

The Corn Palace is in South Dakota, not Iowa. I live near the biggest popcorn ball. I can't believe that didn't make your list! Our town is collecting burnt out Christmas tree lights, they are trying to make it in the Guiness Book of World Records.
